The science behind the new “unspillable cup”

As with pretty much everything, there is a scientific explanation for the “unspillable cup”; it is not magic. You have already seen it. The everyday struggle that people who work with a cup of coffee on their desk have to go through - the potential of knocking over their coffee or drink on the floor or, worse, over their computer.

The unspillabe cup will remedy this situation. This is a cup that no matter how you knock it, it will not tip over.  Of course, it will tip if you add significant force but this is not the kind of force that you would usually accidentally exert.  So, it is pretty close to being perfect.

The Mighty Mug seems pretty amazing after you watch the videos of it in action.  It is so cool that it seems magic.  There is no problem if you lift it up vertically, but if you slap or tap it sideways, it is as if it were glued to the surface!  But there is an explanation of how it works.

The cup includes a design that the company names SmartGrip Technology.  This technology allows the cup to be smashed, slapped, and knocked without tipping over.

The cup includes a little setup at the bottom, like a suction cup, that “glues” the cup to a non-porous surface.  You do not need to push the cup against the surface, it happens naturally.  Once you place it, it will stay right there.

This is the only cup that should be used everywhere.  It is innovative and it comes in several designs. Interestingly, the product has been on the market since 2013, and the company introduced new models in 2014.  The product has just become popular and it is certain sure to grace desks all around the country fairly soon.
